Overview

Rangat is a peaceful stop in Middle Andaman known for mangroves, eco-walks, and uncrowded coastal spots, functioning as a natural halfway point for travellers driving north from Port Blair toward Diglipur and the far north. Most travellers pass through as part of a longer road journey.

It is less about sightseeing density and more about slowing down, exploring nature on foot, and getting a look at everyday island life away from the resorts of the south. The Dhani Nallah mangrove walk, a wooden boardwalk threading through dense mangrove roots toward the open beach beyond, is the standout stop and worth timing carefully around low tide. Amkunj and Moricedera beaches offer quiet stretches of sand nearby for a break, and the whole stop feels noticeably calmer than the busier islands further south, making it an easy place to slow down for a night.
